Artist Statement: It’s the little things in life that count…

Hello I am Oriana and this is my collection of crocheted Amigurumi creations called Liddledewds. Back in July of this year I was involved in a serious car accident that resulted in quite a bit of injuries. Although I am still healing, at the peak of my pain and recovery, I decided to also heal my mind from the traumatic experience by creating and working with my hands.

I’ve always loved to crochet and I’ve made a few dolls in the past but it was during this down time in my life where I discovered something I thoroughly enjoyed and I worked non-stop for weeks. Out of that peace and pleasure came these wonderful ideas and ways to combine awesome shapes, colors, and textures. Thus, the birth of my “little dudes”.

As an artist I want to share my work with everyone. The influence from my family, friends, their children, people, my favorite things and great memories; have all played a vital role in creating these dolls. They are crafted with my love and appreciation for life. I am so happy that I have built the courage to share them with everyone and I hope you find the joy in them as much as I do.

A thousand thanks,

Oriana

Bandit

The Bandit is made up of a combination of 3 main colors. The stripe across his eyes resembles that of a mask. He has ears on top of his head that aren’t really his and is given that effect by strings tied under his chin. This doll was inspired by this adorable kid I saw on Halloween last year. He said that he was Mickey Mouse and Zorro. Hahaha!

Width: 4 inches

Length: 5 inches

Materials: 100% acrylic (yarn), 100% Non-Allegenic Polyester fiber (filling), plastic (eyes)

Wash: Cold water (hand or machine), no tumble dry

*Can be custom made with any colors.
